For Just Josh

The objective of the project was to build a scalable laptop discovery platform for Joshua van Aalst, popularly known as “Just Josh”, one of the most trusted creators in the laptop review space. We partnered with CREATEXP to design and develop BestLaptop.Deals, a platform focused on helping users discover the best laptops through trusted recommendations, live deals, structured product data, and intelligent search experiences. We handled the complete product experience including UI/UX design, full-stack development, backend systems, admin tooling, and platform architecture.

BestLaptop.Deals was designed to simplify the laptop buying journey through a clean and highly searchable experience. Users can browse laptops using detailed filters such as CPU, GPU, RAM, display type, refresh rate, battery life, weight, operating system, and use cases like gaming, productivity, or creator workflows. We also developed dynamic laptop pages featuring specifications, affiliate deals, benchmarks, buying recommendations, and related laptop suggestions. A custom comparison experience was built to help users compare multiple laptops side-by-side in a structured and readable format.

A major focus of the project was building systems capable of managing large amounts of structured laptop and deal data efficiently. We developed intelligent filtering architecture, benchmark systems, recommendation logic, and a custom laptop scoring system that evaluates devices across performance, portability, thermals, battery life, and overall value. The platform was also built with scalable SEO infrastructure including structured schema systems, metadata controls, dynamic indexing support, and performance-focused architecture to support long-term organic growth.

We developed a custom internal admin platform to streamline the operational side of BestLaptop.Deals. The system allows the team to manage laptop entries, affiliate links, pricing, retailer deals, benchmarks, recommendations, and SEO controls from a centralized dashboard. Dedicated workflows were also created for deal publishing, data organization, and content management, significantly improving operational efficiency as the platform scaled.

The product experience was designed around clarity, readability, and trust. Since laptop specifications can often feel overwhelming for users, we focused on simplifying information architecture and presenting complex product data in a more approachable format. Structured layouts, responsive interfaces, and clear comparison systems were implemented throughout the platform to ensure a smooth experience across both desktop and mobile devices.

BestLaptop.Deals helped transform the Just Josh ecosystem from a creator-led recommendation channel into a scalable product-driven platform. Over the last 16 months, the platform has generated more than 44.5 million impressions and over 302,000 clicks through organic discovery and high-intent traffic. From January to May 2026 alone, the platform contributed to over $1.5M+ worth of laptop sales, highlighting the strength of the recommendation ecosystem and user trust built around the platform. The platform currently serves users across the US and Canada, with expansion planned for additional markets in the future.
